Berkshire Place has a small, comfortable Medicare certified skilled nursing unit, located on our Second Floor, which includes twelve private rooms and five semi-private rooms (22 total beds).
In addition, our Third Floor provides private, long-term nursing care with eight additional private rooms and two semi-private rooms (12 total beds). Both floors are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and their small size enables us to provide personalized care to each resident in an intimate, home-like setting.
Residents can be admitted for short-term rehabilitation or long-term care. Payment methods include private resources, Medicare, and / or long-term care insurance. Some residents are admitted directly from the hospital, while others come from nursing / retirement facilities or from home.

- Private and semi-private bedrooms
- Three delicious meals with menu selection
- Special diets are available and overseen by a registered dietitian
- Professional licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for personal assistance and nursing care needs including medication monitoring and administration
- Rehabilitative therapy including physical, occupational, and speech therapies available 7 days a week
- Hospice care in a private, dignified setting
- Intravenous therapy for those who may require antibiotics or hydration
- Individual care plans developed with input from the resident, family, physician and clinical team
